ROGERS PARK — Neighborhood staple J.B. Alberto's has been slinging slices to Far North Siders on Morse Avenue for half a century, and on Wednesday they're thanking the community that's helped make it happen.

“We’re proud to call Morse Avenue in Rogers Park home for the last 50 years. This could never have been accomplished without our loyal customers," owner Tony Troiano said. "The celebration is to honor and thank them.”

From 4-8 p.m., customers get the chance to snag a free slice of pizza or T-shirt while supplies last at the restaurant's 1326 W. Morse Ave. digs.

Helping to celebrate J.B. Alberto's will be Tony Gemignani, an 11-time World Pizza Cup champion, celebrity chef and author who also serves as the U.S. Ambassador of Neapolitan Pizza to the city of Naples.

The family owned business is grateful to its loyal customers and the community that helped the pizzeria thrive and grow in a competitive industry.

"As our business grew, it gave us the opportunity to give to a community that has given so much to us. We are nothing without you," Troiano said.
