AUSTIN — A 17-year-old was stabbed in his back by an older man after he got off a CTA bus on the West Side Monday afternoon, police said.
Around 4 p.m., the teen and an acquaintance were arguing with a woman after the group exited a bus on the 5000 block of West Madison Street, police said.
When an older man tried to intervene, police said, the teen hit him. The man then brandished a knife and stabbed the teen in his back.
The teen was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was "stable," according to Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
