CHICAGO — A 23-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday afternoon in the Back of the Yards, according to police.
The man was found by police in the 5300 block of South Union Avenue at 4:50 p.m. Saturday with gunshot wounds to his neck and abdomen, said Officer Janel Sedevic, Chicago police spokesman.
He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, Sedevic said.
The man has been identified as Frederick Dockery, who was killed just a block south of his home, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. He lives in the 5200 block of South Union Avenue.
No arrests have been made as the investigation is ongoing, she said.
