THE LOOP — People lined up down the block — and then some — for the opening of Nike's specialty Air Jordan store.

The line was still going out the door on Saturday, when Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery came in. But, customers were able to file in and check out the store, 32 S. State St., which features several handpainted murals of Michael Jordan, Jordan paraphernalia and shelves upon shelves of Air Jordan shoes.

AJ Rumsa, of Lincoln Park, said he came on Saturday to check out the store with his friend, Michael Jordan's son.

"It's cool to see all the people here, to be able to see how many people support him," Rumsa said. "Something like this, with the name behind it and obviously the legacy, and obviously being in Chicago, I just think it's something that people have been wanting for the last 20, 30 years. ...Opening something like this just brings more excitement to the city."
