4 Wounded In Gun Violence Thursday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Four people were wounded in gun violence Thursday night, according to police.

• Most recently, a 22-year-old man was shot in West Pullman late Thursday, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man was on the sidewalk in the 12700 block of South Parnell Avenue around 10:30 p.m. when a shooter got out of a SUV and opened fire, Pacheco said. The man was struck in his neck and buttocks and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, Pacheco said. The man is a known gang member, police said.

• A 21-year-old man was shot in Austin Thursday, Pacheco said. He was on the sidewalk in the 1000 block of North Lavergne Avenue around 9:30 p.m. when two shooters got out of a dark car and opened fire, Pacheco said. The man was struck in his abdomen and leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, she said.

• A 23-year-old woman was shot in West Pullman Thursday, Pacheco said. She was walking in the 11900 block of South LaSalle Street around 7:30 p.m. when shots rang out, Pacheco said. Someone across the street shot at a passing van, missed, and hit the woman in her right thigh, Pacheco said. The woman was taken to Roseland Community Hospital in good condition, Pacheco said.

• A 17-year-old teen was shot in West Englewood Thursday, Pacheco said. The teen was walking with friends through an alley in the 2100 block of West 68th Street around 6:30 p.m. when two shooters appeared and opened fire, Pacheco said. The teen was shot in his right arm and buttocks and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition, Pacheco said. Police said the shooting may have been gang related.

No arrests have been made.
