EDGEWATER — A fundraiser at an art studio Monday night will help Edgewater artist Lydia Cash recover some of the income she lost when her "life's work" worth of paintings was stolen from her in September.

During the Edgewater Fall Art Fair Sept. 26-27, Cash said she left the paintings she'd intended to sell in her booth overnight, believing four security guards would be on hand to watch over the site. In reality, there were two.

When she returned Sunday morning to open her booth, eight original paintings worth $3,410 were missing, she said.

Between 7-9 p.m. Monday a benefit at Bottle and Bottega, 2900 N. Lincoln Ave., will help Cash to make up for some of the costs of the stolen pieces, as well as go toward the purchase of art supplies.

The class will be held at a BYOB wine bar.

A portion of the $35 ticket will go toward Cash. All of the proceeds from raffle ticket sales will also go to her.

The ticket price includes paint supplies, instruction, aprons and an 11-inch-by-14-inch canvass to take home.
