PORTAGE PARK — A rifle was stolen from a Chicago Police car early Friday morning while officers responded to a call for help at Community First Medical Center, police said.
The car was parked in the 5600 block of west Addison Street at 5:15 a.m. while officers were inside the hospital when the car was broken into, said Chicago Police Officer Janel Sedevic, a spokeswoman for the department.
A police-issued rifle was stolen, Sedevic said.
Detectives are investigating the incident, Sedevic said.
