CHICAGO — Drivers should expect delays as lanes are reduced along the Stevenson and Lake Shore Drive, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Starting Monday, IDOT will begin to reduce lanes as part of reconstruction on the interchange between the Stevenson Expressway and Lake Shore Drive. There will be some overnight lane closures as the changes are put in place until Nov. 3. The resulting lane configuration will be in effect until summer:

• Inbound Stevenson: The three lanes that approach the interchange will be reduced to two 11-foot lanes starting east of the Dan Ryan Expressway

• Inbound Stevenson to southbound Lake Shore Drive ramp: The single lane will be reduced to 11 feet and traffic will move to the right of the ramp

• 25th Street from Martin Luther King Drive to Donnelly Drive/McCormick Place Busway: The lanes will be reduced to 12 feet and moved south. Street parking will be eliminated.

Drivers should plan for delays when going through the area, according to IDOT.
