CHICAGO — October 21, 2015 is quickly approaching, and Doc Brown has some thoughts on how he wants to spend it.

Fans of the "Back to the Future" movies might remember it as the date Marty McFly time-travels to in "Back to the Future: Part II." It's also the date Marty sees a digital billboard announcing the Cubs winning the World Series over a Miami team with an alligator mascot.

Christopher Lloyd, who plays Dr. Emmett Brown in the films, talked to the Hollywood Reporter this week as the date approaches and nostalgia for the franchise runs high. The Cubs' real-life playoff run this season makes him chuckle, according to the Reporter.

"I didn't even remember about the Cubs until someone brought it up a few days ago," Lloyd said in the interview.

He also told the Reporter that if the Cubs make it to the World Series, he'd want to throw out the first pitch: ""Maybe it'll happen. We'll see," he said. "They got to get there first."
