LOGAN SQUARE — The Corner Miller family has always had a Halloween obsession, but this year they're taking it to the next level.

For years, Candace Corner Miller and her husband Johnny have poured a ton of creative effort into detailed and elaborate costumes, like the face-morphed couple from Beetlejuice and the murderer and victim from Psycho's iconic shower scene. Last October, when Candace dressed as a game of Operation to announce her pregnancy, they knew their costume planning would never be the same.

So a year later, the Logan Square pair is going all-out to include their newborn son, Henry, in their costume craze. They've pledged to pose him in a different outfit every day of October, taking photos and posting each to Instagram.

Nearly halfway through, it doesn't look like the couple are running out of ideas. Costumes range from old standards, like a mummy and skeleton, to more obscure references, like comedian Marc Maron and Tom Cruise from "Risky Business."

Combining hand-drawn backrdops, thrift store odds and ends and mountains of felt, Candace said she and her husband, an artist, have found a new creative outlet in Henry's Halloween.

"We love everything about Halloween, but our favorite part about it is that it's such a great way to show what kinds of costumes everyone can come up with," Candace said. "I usually spend all year thinking about my Halloween costume, and how to make each year's costume better than the last."

The couple said they'll be accepting ideas from friends for how to dress Henry on Oct. 31, and they'll choose their favorite for his first true Halloween costume.

"Halloween should be all about inspiring creativity, having fun and getting a little crazy," Candace said. "We just hope Henry grows up to love it as much as we do."
