Kyle Schwarber Home Run Ball To Stay On Wrigley Scoreboard Under Plexiglass

CHICAGO — Kyle Schwarber's famed home run ball is going to stay on top of the Wrigley Field video board in right field for a while longer.

The ball ended up on top of the new video board after the Cubs outfielder's massive home run Tuesday night, and it was still there Wednesday. Cubs spokesman Julian Green confirmed it was Schwarber's home run ball and said it will stay up there with a plexiglass case for the rest of the postseason.

Schwarber says he even called the shot earlier in the inning when talking to centerfielder Dexter Fowler during a pitching change.

"Yeah. We were out in centerfield and Joe [Maddon] was making a pitching change," Schwarber said. "I was just joking around and said: ‘I’m going to hit a home run off this guy.’ He's like, 'Do it.' And there you go.”

The Cubs beat the Cardinals 6-4 in Game Four on Tuesday, making it the first time in history the Cubs clinched a series at Wrigley Field. They'll now face either the Mets or Dodgers in the National League Championship Series.

Of course, some people have other ideas about where the ball may have ended up:
