RIVER NORTH — There won't be an elevator full of blood, but a River North hotel will otherwise mimic the Overlook Hotel from "The Shining" for a Halloween party.

The Dana Hotel & Spa, 660 N. State St., will host a costume party, maze, and other activities inspired by the 1980 Stanley Kubrick horror classic starring Jack Nicholson on Oct. 31.

The Vertigo Sky Lounge on the 26th floor of the hotel will host the maze and costume party with $500 worth of prizes. Guests will be treated to live music and photo opps with the "Come Play With us" twins and Nicholson's character in the film, an adaptation of a Stephen King novel. There will also be "Redrum" sangria punch.
