EDGEBROOK — Downtown Edgebrook will be transformed into an open-air art gallery Saturday as part of an event to raise money for a business group striving to bring new life to Devon and Central avenues, organizers said.

Work by local artists has been on display in stores throughout Downtown Edgebrook in October, and the art walk set for 2 to 5 p.m. will include music and refreshments, said Everyday Edgebrook co-founder Laura Guenther.

Attendees will be asked to make a $10 donation to Everyday Edgebrook, which broke away from the Edgebrook Chamber of Commerce earlier this year in an effort to breathe new life into the area around Devon and Central avenues.

Artists will be on hand to discuss their work, and Rick Graham will give a guided tour of the Neighborhood Connection Project, a paint and mosaic mural along the western portion of the path under the Metra tracks at Lehigh, Hiawatha and Kinzua avenues.

Attendees can also attend an outdoor class in the North Branch Arts' community garden hosted by Creativo Academy and take a "Princess-In-Training" class at Dance and Music Academy, organizers said.

During the festival, the Edgebrook Community Association will host a garden concert of fiddle, guitar and banjo music performed by Anna and Evan Jacobson.

Designed as a rest stop for weary festival-goers the concert will take place from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the garden area of the Edgebrook branch of the Chicago Public Library, 5331 W. Devon Ave.

Tickets are available online.
