CAPS Meeting Set for Bucktown Residents Near '606' Trail

BUCKTOWN — Residents interested in learning about recent crime trends in the Wicker Park, Bucktown and Noble Square areas are encouraged to pop by Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy meetings this Thursday and next Wednesday.

Shakespeare District beat officers and resident facilitators will be on hand for each meeting.

Thursday

A meeting for two beats in Bucktown, Noble Square, and Wicker Park will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Pulaski Park, 1419 W. Blackhawk St.

Beats 1432/33 are bordered by Wood Street to the west, the Chicago River to the east, Division Street to the south and Armitage Avenue to the north.

Next Wednesday

A meeting for the Wicker Park, Bucktown and Logan Square areas will be held at 6:30 p.m. next Wednesday, Oct. 21 at the Bucktown/Wicker Park library, 1701 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Beat 1434 is bordered by Armitage Avenue on the north, North Avenue on the south, Wood Street on the east, and Rockwell Street on the west. This patrol beat includes the eastern half of The 606's Bloomingdale Trail, a 2.7-mile-long elevated trail that opened in June and Shakespeare District police are tasked with patrolling.
