CHICAGO — Jake Arrieta sure is good at baseball. And (this is much less important but still a bonus) he's not too bad at Twitter either.

Cases in point: After a complete game shut-out with no walks against the Pittsburgh Pirates for the Cubs' Wild Card win Wednesday, he gained more than 20,000 followers in one day, according to the Tribune.

While the Cy Young murmurs grow around the right hander with a 22-6 regular season record and sparkling 1.77 ERA, his personality off the field has also attracted plenty of fans. His openness to answering questions via social media and retweeting stuff from his followers make him an even bigger hit.

Here are a few of our favorite tweets from the Cubs' ace pitcher.

He doesn't take himself too seriously:

He tweeted the world's biggest understatement after throwing a no-no:

He's watching out for his fans:

Having a cute pouty kid doesn't hurt:

He knows the value of a good taunt:

He reciprocates affection:

He loves his teammates:

He bikes with his kid (OK this isn't a funny thing, but, awwwwww):

He knows how to Netflix and kill (time during a rain delay):

He encourages computer-simulation-Arrieta to do better

He's an Outkast fan:

And, of course...:
