ROGERS PARK — For some Rogers Park residents living in a single-family home or building with no more than four units, garbage pickup day has changed.

Neighbors who live in the area bounded by the south side of Greenleaf to the north side of Pratt, and the east side of Ravenswood all the way to the lake, will get their trash taken away on Tuesday instead of Monday, Ald. Joe Moore (49th) wrote to constituents.

The change only affects people who utilize the city's trash services, and residents living outside of that zone will keep their normal schedule, he said.

It's a neighborhoodwide move that will ultimately save the city $7 million, Moore said.

"The additional savings generated by the modifications to the [pickup system] will free up resources for other vital services, such as tree-trimming and rodent control," Moore wrote to residents.
