CHICAGO — Avondale's popular fried chicken joint Honey Butter Fried Chicken is on the Chicago Cubs bandwagon.

On Friday and Saturday, the same days as Game 1 and 2 of the playoff series against the St. Louis Cardinals, the restaurant at 3361 N. Elston Ave. will give anyone who also orders 8-piece fried chicken, either as pick-up or take-out, a free extra serving of chicken wings.

They're not the only local eatery to jump on the bandwagon. On Thursday, the new-to-Chicago chicken chain Nando's Peri-Peri gave away free chicken at all three of its city locations because of the Cubs win in the National League Wild Card Game.

Cubs haters have their choice of free deals too. The South Side bar McNally's continues its tradition of trolling the Chicago Cubs and has promised to give out free beer every time the Cardinals hit a home run during the series.
