Growing Home
WEST ENGLEWOOD — Growing Home will host an Open House on Saturday to offer the public a chance to tour the USDA-certified organic urban farm, participate in a healthy cooking demonstration and more.
The free event is from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Englewood urban farm, 5814 S. Wood St.
Attendees will learn how the food is grown and will be able to take some samples with them after the healthy cooking demonstrations.
iGrow Chicago will be present to lead a yoga class, and children can take part in face painting, sidewalk art and games.
Ald. Raymond Lopez (15th) will speak about community development. Attendees will also learn how local food can help people find jobs in Chicago's food chain.
