BUCKTOWN — Chefs repping 10 local bars, restaurants and breweries are teaming up to cook chili this Friday, with proceeds from the friendly competition set to go to a local nonprofit group that will provide meals and gifts to local families over the Christmas season.

The third annual Bucktown Pub Chili Cook-Off is scheduled for 5-9 p.m. Friday at the pub, 1658 W. Cortland Ave.

Tickets cost $15 online or $20 at the door, and include a bottomless all-you-can-eat bowl of chili, drink specials, raffles and more.  All proceeds benefit Midtown Center, which provides Christmas dinners and gift baskets to families in need.

The chili maker roster includes workers from Map Room, The Owl, Links Taproom, Bangers & Lace, Cortland's Garage and more.

"The Cook-off is a unique opportunity for local restaurants and businesses in Bucktown to come together for a common good cause!" according to the event's website.
