LOGAN SQUARE — Police suspect two 14-year-old boys to be the culprits of three armed robberies that occurred over a week, according to a community alert released Friday.

In every case, police said, the boys approached people in the street and one of them pulled out a gun, demanding cell phones.

The three robberies, the alert said, happened at the following times and places:

• The 2000 block of North Drake Avenue, at 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 24

• The 3400 block of West Palmer Street, at 2:25 p.m. on Sept. 26

Both suspects are described as 14-year-old black boys standing between 5'5" and 5'7" tall, weighing between 100 and 145 pounds.

At the time of the robberies, one of the boys was wearing jeans and either a brown denim jacket or a grey hooded sweatshirt. He wore his hair in braids, the alert said.

The other boy, police said, has a "light to medium complexion" and wore a gray or black hooded sweatshirt.
