Where's The South Loop? Readers Agree to Disagree

SOUTH LOOP — Reader-submitted drawings of the South Loop's borders have built more confusion than consensus.

Once again, readers asked to draw their neighborhoods were all over the map when it came to defining the quickly changing South Loop. This time, submitted borders of the neighborhood immediately south of the Loop extended as far north as at least Monroe Street, south past the Stevenson Expressway, and as far west as Ashland Avenue.

We reported in August that the South Loop's neighborhood borders were perhaps the city's most disputed among DNAinfo readers. That's partly due to Realtors and others constantly testing its borders for marketing, and with a flurry of new towers in the South Loop's construction pipeline, that practice probably won't change.
