UPTOWN — Have a scary tale you've been waiting all year to get off your chest?

Then tonight is your night at the Holiday Club, 4000 N. Sheridan Road, as they host an extra spooky Story Club themed: "Things that go bump in the night."

During the event, three "bold and brave storytellers," Tim Barnes, Lauren Michelle Catey and David Barish "will tell their most terrifying stories in the Holiday Club's retro back room," according to a news release for the event.

For those who want to show off their best Goosebumps impersonation, there are three open mic slots available. Participants are given 8 minutes or roughly 1,300 words to tell a story aligned with that theme, or not. If more than three people sign up to perform, names will be drawn for the available spots, according to the release.

At the end of the show, the audience will vote for the best story, which will be featured in Story Club Magazine. Open mic starts at 7:30 p.m. and host Ali Kelley will begin the show at 8 p.m., the release said.

There is a $10 suggested donation, which will be used to pay performers.
