WICKER PARK — A longtime neighborhood mainstay is honoring a newcomer with a drone-shot video.

Bill Jacobs, owner of Piece Pizzeria & Brewery, 1927 W. North Ave., said he produced the video with licensed drone operators/directors Jim Furrh and Jon Buckland.

One of Jacobs' brothers, Pete, appears as a jogger in the video. "We wanted to show our appreciation for The 606," Jacobs said.

Piece opened in 2001, while the new 606 park and revamped Bloomingdale Trail opened this summer. Piece donated $1,000 to The 606, and Jacobs said he hoped the film would help spur donations.

Furrh and Buckland filmed the less-than-one-minute video, which features Piece employees jogging the Bloomingdale Trail and gathering on the baseball diamond at Churchill Field Park.

"Here's to the first summer of the 606," reads the caption as the video fades out.
