Fourth Annual Tough Cup Rowing Regatta Hits the River Saturday

BRIDGEPORT — More than 200 kids will take to the river in racing shells Saturday to compete in the Chicago Training Center’s fourth annual Tough Cup.

This year’s “Rumble on the River” regatta runs from 9 a.m.-noon, starting on the South Branch of the Chicago River at the Kedzie Bridge and ending just south of Ashland Avenue.

The training center will take on teams including Camp Randall, New Trier, St. Charles, Row America, St. Ignatius, Alliance and Crystal Lake.

For spectators, there will be race programs, race shirts and coffee from Big Shoulders Coffee Co.
