DOWNTOWN — A city-forced shutdown of a busy Michigan Avenue Chipotle this week was apparently short-lived.
The Chipotle at 316 N. Michigan Ave. reopened Tuesday, a little more than a day after the city's department of public health suspended its license over fruit flies.

A source who walked by the restaurant earlier told DNAinfo Chicago that the Chipotle was open by 6 p.m. Tuesday.
On Monday, city inspectors shut down the Chipotle after noticing "over 100 flying insects" in all corners of the restaurant, including the kitchen and storage rooms.
The restaurant was also cited for not having a "food manager" on duty during Monday's inspection, and failing to clean floors underneath shelves in the storage room.
Monday's inspection arrived after the city first noticed a fruit fly issue a week earlier.
