PORTAGE PARK — The Portage Park Elementary School Local School Council is looking to fill three vacant seats.

The council, which is in charge of the school's budget, rules and selecting the principal every four years, is looking for two parent representatives as well as a community representative, officials said.

Parent representatives must have a student enrolled at Portage Park Elementary School, and cannot be an employee of the Chicago Board of Education.

Community representatives should have a connection to the school but are not required to live in the school's immediate neighborhood, officials said.

Those interested in any of the positions should go to the school at 5330 W. Berteau Ave. and ask for an application.

The council's next meeting is set for Sept. 29 in the school library.
