EDGEWATER — A 35-year-old man was in good condition after being shot at a gas station in Edgewater, police said.

At 3:54 a.m., the man was standing at the gas station in the 5700 block of North Broadway Street when someone walked up and started talking to him, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The Shell Gas station is located at the corner of Hollywood and Broadway, a popular stop for those exiting off Lake Shore Drive.

After an "exchange of words," Estrada said, the second man pulled out a gun and shot the 35-year-old twice: once in his left hip, and again in his left leg.

A friend drove the man to Saint Francis Hospital, Estrada said, where he was listed in good condition.
