DUNNING — The Northwest Chicago Historical Society will host a seminar Monday designed to help you uncover your house's secrets.

Chicago house historian Grace DuMelle will teach attendees how to research their house's history including how to find out who lived in your home before you, what architectural style it is and when improvements were done to the house.

DuMelle is president of Heartland Historical Research Service and has been a professional researcher for 20 years. She is the author of "Finding Your Chicago Ancestors: A Beginner's Guide to Family History in the City and Cook County."

The free event, co-sponsored by the Greater Avondale Chamber of Commerce, will take place at 7 p.m. Monday at the New England Inn, 6859 W. Irving Park Road.

Food will be sold.
