BRIDGEPORT — Ald. Patrick D. Thompson (11th) will host a community meeting Thursday to discuss a developer’s request to build two buildings for both residential and retail use in the neighborhood.

The unnamed developer has requested a zoning change to allow construction to begin on a stretch of vacant property from 4351-4361 S. Halsted St.

The project would include “14 dwelling units,” according to the alderman’s office. The ground level of the property would be used for retail.

More details about the project will be uncovered at the meeting, set for 6 p.m. Thursday at Taylor Lauridsen Park, 704 W. 42nd St.

Thompson said the meeting will give local residents a chance to provide input on what’s happening in the neighborhood.
