CHICAGO — Want to go to a Cubs postseason game? You'll have to be picked in a random drawing to be able to buy tickets to a single game, the Cubs announced Thursday.
Fans can register for a drawing that will give them a chance to buy single-game postseason tickets for a Wild Card Game and the National League Division Series. Registration opened online at 9 a.m. Thursday and runs through noon Sept. 23.
Those who are selected in the drawing will be notified via email and will be able to buy up to four tickets for a game at Wrigley Field, according to a Cubs news release. Fans will only be able to buy tickets once during the postseason, and prices will be announced later.
There will be further drawings with different registration dates for future potential series, according to the Cubs.
The Cubs and Wrigley Field are 95 percent owned by a trust established for the benefit of the family of Joe Ricketts, owner and CEO of DNAinfo.com. Joe Ricketts has no direct involvement in the management of the iconic team.
