Four Men Wounded in Citywide Shootings Since Tuesday Morning: Police

CHICAGO — Four men were hurt in shootings between Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning, police said.

• Most recently, around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, a 24-year-old man was shot in his left thigh in the 7100 block of South Blackstone Avenue in Grand Crossing, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, Pacheco said.

Police could not immediately provide any other information about the shooting.

• About two hours earlier, a 20-year-old man was standing outside with friends in the 6700 block of South Langley Avenue in Park Manor when he heard gunshots and felt pain, Pacheco said.

The man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition with a gunshot wound in his buttocks, Pacheco said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

• Around 7:55 p.m. Tuesday, a 19-year-old man was walking with friends in the 9400 block of South Green Street in Washington Heights when someone shot at them from across the street, Pacheco said.

The man was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition with a gunshot wound in his left heel, Pacheco said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member, and that he's not cooperating with authorities.

• At 2:25 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, a 25-year-old man was walking in the 5400 block of South Aberdeen Avenue in Back of the Yards when someone jumped out of a nearby car and shot at him before fleeing, Pacheco said.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was in good condition after being shot in his left leg, Pacheco said.
