Beverly Business Burglaries Lead to Police Alert

By Howard Ludwig | September 9, 2015 3:40pm

BEVERLY — The Chicago Police Department issued a community alert Wednesday following a pair of commercial burglaries in Beverly.

The businesses that were robbed were in the 10200 and 10400 blocks of South Western Avenue. The burglaries occurred on Friday and Sunday sometime between midnight and 7 a.m., according to police in the Morgan Park district.

In one robbery, the burglar acting alone or with a crew entered the business by prying open a window. In the other incident, the thief or thieves forced their way into a vacant office next door and broke through the wall, police said.

Cash and goods were taken from both businesses, according to police.

In response, police recommended businesses have a working alarm system, keep a few lights on after hours and keep cash secure when closed. If anyone has any information about the break-ins, they are encouraged to call the Area South Property Crimes Bureau at 312-747-8273.
