UPTOWN — Spend your Sept. 11 walking the Lakeshore with wounded warriors from the No Barriers Program.

Walk with the Warriors will kick off its 3-mile walk at Cricket Hill at Montrose Beach around 2 p.m. Friday. Registration begins at 1 p.m., according to Crowdrise.com.

The walk will be lead by veterans from the No Barriers Warriors Program "who will share their journey along the way."

The program "empowers veterans and transitioning service members with disabilities, and survivors of the fallen, to overcome barriers and unleash their potential," according to the No Barriers Warriors website.

A $25 suggested donation will be accepted for the walk. Extra fundraising for the program will make participants eligible for prizes such as a free Fitbit. Participants can register for the event here.
