RIVER NORTH — Fremont, a new two-level bar featuring live music and "killer weekend brunch," is taking over the shuttered American Junkie in River North, Four Corners Tavern Group has announced.

Chicago-based Four Corners, a restaurant chain that acquired the former American Junkie space earlier this year, said Tuesday that Fremont will open in November at 15 W. Illinois St.

Like its predecessor, Fremont will have a "modern industrial feel" and a retractable roof, Four Corners spokesman Logan Perakis said. The bar's first floor will have more of a lounge vibe, while the second level will feature two bars and a stage for live music and DJs.

The new bar will serve dinner seven days a week, and brunch on weekends, Perakis said. The menu will include items ranging from Japanese-style fried chicken karaage to salads and sandwiches.

American Junkie closed in January after opening in 2013.
