CHICAGO — A Garfield Park shooting left a man dead Monday night, police say.

At 7:47 p.m., a 23-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 3100 block of West Fifth Avenue in Garfield Park when someone walked up to him and shot him, said Officer Jose Estrada, Chicago Police spokesman.

The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead, Estrada said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office identified the man as Deandre Miles, of the 2700 block of West Maypole Avenue.

The shooting is possibly gang-related, police said.

No one is in custody for the shooting, Estrada said.
