South Shore Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Injured, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 25-year-old man was killed and two other men were injured in a South Shore shooting late Wednesday morning, according to police.

The 25-year-old was standing with two other men in the 2600 block of East 74th Street at 9 a.m. Wednesday when shots rang out, according to Officer Janel Sedevic. He was hit in his head and taken to South Shore Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Sedevic said.

A 29-year-old man was shot in his chest and back and taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Sedevic said. A 50-year-old man suffered a graze wound to the back, was taken to Jackson Park Hospital and is expected to be released, she said.

Vuan Evans, of the 3100 block of South Cheltenham Place, was pronounced dead at 9:40 p.m., according to Cook County Medical Examiner's records.

No arrests have been made.
