CHICAGO — A luau theme is taking over Red Door Animal Shelter's annual "Gimme Shelter! Walk for the Animals" this Sunday.

The luau goes from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Indian Boundary Park, 2500 W. Lunt Ave.

The event will feature a tropical brunch, dancers, dog splash pools, games, a photo booth, vendors, raffles and a human-canine costume contest.

Tickets bought before the event are $25 for adults and $5 for kids ages 3 to 12. Day-of registration is $30 for adults. Tickets can be bought here.

Vendor Dip and Del's Designs will be at the luau, and attendees can meet Deli the pig.

A pet isn't necessary for entrance.

"No dog? No problem! This event is for anyone who loves animals," reads the Facebook event page.

Red Door Animal Shelter is a no-kill animal shelter for dogs, cats and rabbits at 2410 W. Lunt Ave. in Rogers Park.
