BRIDGEPORT — Get your telescope ready for some stargazing on “Mt. Bridgeport.”

That’s the neighborhood nickname of the steep hill of Henry Palmisano Park, where children often fly kites and photographers snap shots of the Chicago skyline from one of the best vantage points in the city.

But on Aug. 29, from 7:30-8:30 p.m., you’ll have a chance to bring the entire family and a blanket to catch a stellar view of something a little more exotic: The cosmos.

A Night Out in the Parks event will teach stargazers about phases of the moon, neighboring planets, star clusters, nebulae and more.

The event is free, and all ages are welcome to show up and study the stars.
