CHICAGO — Three Chicago food trucks have ranked among the country's best, although none of the city's trucks cracked the top 50.
Pierogi Street (No. 68), the Vegan Food Truck by Ste Martaen (No. 77) and the Fat Shallot (No. 93) cracked the Daily Meal's rankings of the top 101 food trucks in America. California led the list with 18 food trucks.
Pierogi Street dishes out Polish fare, the Vegan Food Truck does catering, delivery pop-ups and vending with specialty vegan and gluten-free items, and the Fat Shallot specializes in sandwiches and sides.
The rankings were released by the Daily Meal, which asked readers for food truck suggestions and then compiled the final rankings through a reader survey. There were 2,662 responses and 5,634 votes since respondents were allowed to vote for more than one truck, according to the Daily Meal.
