UPTOWN — Residents can expect more noise overnight as CTA begins replacing track ties on Purple Line Express Trains.

Beginning Thursday, the CTA warns there will be noise from heavy truck traffic, engine noise from diesel track maintenance equipment and beeping from alarms on track maintenance equipment. They will also be using lights in the work zone, the CTA said.

Work will continue on weeknights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. until Sept. 13 on the tracks between Argyle and Thorndale Stations, the CTA said.

Paths underneath the Purple Line Express tracks to enter parking lots, garages and doors via the alley will remain open during the construction.

If you have any questions about the work activity call CTA Government and Community Relations Officer  LaTrice Phillips-Thompson 312-681-2709.
