CHICAGO — Riot Fest is officially going to be held on the south side of Douglas Park.

The music festival's location was confirmed when organizers released a map of the grounds on Thursday. The map shows Riot Fest will take place in between South Albany and South California Avenues and Ogden Avenue and West 19th Street.

The map released Thursday shows four stages and two VIP lounges will form a large circle in the park, with bars, lounges and other stages scattered throughout the park.

The main entrance will be off 19th. Another entrance sits on California.

That area of Douglas Park has significantly fewer reported drug and gun crimes than the rest of the park, according to police data, but Douglas Park is surrounded by open-air drug markets

Riot Fest moved to Douglas Park this year after tensions in Humboldt Park. The festival had been in Humboldt Park for three years, but it faced opposition from Ald. Roberto Maldonado (26th) and some community members.

Protestors have also called for Riot Fest to be kicked out of its new home, but the festival is still set for Sept. 11-13.

Riot Fest held a job fair in the Douglas Park Field House ballroom, 1401 S. Sacramento Blvd., looking for residents who could work at the three-day festival.
