BEVERLY — The Chicago Architecture Foundation will host a pair of tours of Beverly on Sunday and again on Oct. 4.

Both tours begin at 1:15 p.m., and participants will meet at the Metra station at 103rd Street and Walden Parkway in Beverly.

The tours are both two hours and are free to members of the Loop-based foundation. Non-members will be required to pay $15 for each tour.

The tour, titled "Beverly (South): A Castle, Mansions and More," will explore two houses built just after the Great Fire of 1871 — a Frank Lloyd Wright home and a true Chicago castle.

The tour will take place in Chicago’s Longwood Drive Landmark District — one of the nation’s largest National Register Districts, according to the foundation's website.

"Unlike most of Chicago, the lots in Beverly are large — some as big as 1.5 acres. The houses also are large — most were constructed between 1890 and 1930 and each is unique," the online posting reads.

Reservations are recommended and can be made by visiting the foundation's website.
