CENTRAL LAKEVIEW — A knife-wielding woman attacked a man near the Belmont 'L' station early Wednesday, police said.

Around 1:45 a.m., the two acquaintances were arguing in the 900 block of West Belmont Avenue when the woman pulled out a knife and cut the 21-year-old man's face.

The victim fled and was found by emergency responders in the 3100 block of North Sheffield Avenue. He was in stable condition when taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

The man, who appeared to be intoxicated, said he didn't know where the woman went following the altercation, police said.

Police said no one has been arrested, but Area North detectives are investigating.
