PORTAGE PARK — A broken sound system won't stop the music at the Filament Theatre in Six Corners.

Theater organizers will kick off their effort to raise $4,000 to replace the busted system at 7 p.m. Sunday with an acoustic concert.

The only theme for the Filament Unplugged: Sounds of Summer Fundraiser will be a fun, laid-back night of music, organizers said.

A new sound system is needed to meet the needs of the growing theater and serve "the varied activities that Filament houses," theater leaders said.

Artists scheduled to perform include the Dirty Miners, Natalie Myre, Tim McNulty, Joanna P Lind, the New Switcheroo, Dan Aranda, Kristin Cotts, Melissa Schlesinger and David Bragman.

Tickets are available online — donations of at least $10 will reserve a seat, organizers said. Bigger donations will be rewarded with tickets to upcoming shows and concerts. The theater is located at 4041 N. Milwaukee Ave.
