GLADSTONE PARK — A meeting to discuss issues in Gladstone Park will take place Aug. 18, organizers said.

The meeting is also designed to gather feedback on whether residents are interested in making the Friends of Gladstone Park a registered nonprofit and having regular meetings, said Joe DiCiaula, one of the group's leaders.

The meeting is set for 7 p.m. Aug. 18 at Hitch School, 5625 N. McVicker Ave.

Also on the agenda for the meeting is an update from members of the Fair Allocation in Runways Coalition, which has been pressing elected officials to reduce the jet noise caused by planes using east-west runways to take off and land at O'Hare Airport.

Representatives of the Gladstone Park Chamber of Commerce also will discuss economic development issues.

In addition, attendees will get information about Pace's about its plans for an express bus service to take riders from the Jefferson Park Transit Center to the Golf Mill Shopping Center in Niles starting in 2017.

An effort to start a garden club to maintain newly expanded curbs and medians along Milwaukee Avenue will also be discussed, DiCiaula said.
