CHICAGO — An Uptown man is being charged with a felony after stealing $90,000 worth of cancer patient wigs from O'Hare Airport, police announced Saturday.

Noel Fulgencio, 35, of the 4800 block of North Magnolia Avenue in Uptown, allegedly removed a suitcase from baggage claim around 9 a.m. Tuesday, according to a police statement.

That suitcase was full human hair wigs made for cancer patients, police added.

Online retailers sell the wigs between $100 and $3,000 each. Police said the suitcase in question was valued at more than $90,000.

Fulgencio was arrested on the 3000 block of West Lawrence Avenue on Friday afternoon, police said. He was charged with one felony count of theft control intent ($10,000-$100,000).

Officers were able to recover the suitcase and its contents, police said.
