LAKEVIEW — For one night only, it's raining money in Lakeview.

To celebrate its second birthday, Chicago View magazine will release 50 paper airplanes into the sky, each with a $50 bill attached.

The idea is to encourage patronizing local businesses, with organizers hoping the $50 bills will be spent in some of Lakeview's many shops and restaurants, said Jeff Briggs, Chicago View director of business relations.

"It's just our way of saying thanks to all the great businesses that make up the area. We wanted to provide some fun to go and spend in all these great restaurants, salons, gyms, things like that," he said.

Chicago View is a marketing organization with connections to the Central Lakeview Merchants Association. In addition to its magazine, Chicago View also offers marketing and promotional services for Chicago businesses. Check out their summer issue here.

The airplanes will launch at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of MB Financial Bank at Clark and Belmont, 3179 N. Clark St.
