CANARYVILLE — The American Postal Workers Union plans to move into the former Teamsters hall at 4217 S. Halsted St.

The Postal Workers bought the 57-year-old building in December for $450,000, according to Cook County records.

At a recent CAPS meeting at St. Gabriel Church, Ald. Patrick Daley Thompson, said the Postal Workers “will be great to have" on the 26,000 square-foot lot.

“They’ve been doing work there [and] renovating,” Thompson said.

It is unclear when the Postal Workers plan to open the hall for business. Union officials were not immediately available for comment Monday.
