CHICAGO — Police are warning Wicker Park residents after two armed robberies at Wicker Park convenience stores.

Police said the robbers enter late-night convenience stores with guns and have taken money from their cash registers, according to a statement issued Friday night.

The first robbery occurred at 4:40 a.m. Friday in the 1500 block of North Damen Avenue, just south of the Damen Blue Line stop. The second robbery was at 11:50 p.m. June 28 in the 1400 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, police said.

The robbers are described as two or three 18-year-old black men of average height and weight, wearing black hoodies, "new-looking" white gym shoes, and white cloth masks covering the bottoms of their faces, according to police.

One robber wore a baseball cap that appeared to bear the "Ghostbusters" logo, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 312-744-8263.
