LINCOLN PARK — Summer is in full swing, and with it come the usual weekends jam-packed with outdoor events.

Here are our five exciting events going on this weekend in Lincoln Park.

The Art of Canning — Preservation expert Paul Virant, chef at Perennial Virant, will host a pickling demonstration at the Green City Market. The canning demo starts at 9 a.m. at the Hotel Lincoln's Green City Market pop-up tent. The event is free.

Sheffield Garden Walk — The premier neighborhood event combining backyard gardens and music is happening this weekend. More than 100 neighborhood gardens are participating this year. The event, set for Saturday and Sunday, also features food, drinks and music along Sheffield near Webster Avenue. Rusted Root headlines Saturday night and Sister Hazel caps off the weekend Sunday night. There is a $7 suggested donation, and $10 suggested donation after 3 p.m.

Chicago Craft Beer Festival — Adjacent to the Sheffield Garden Walk, the fourth annual Chicago Craft Beer Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday from noon-10 p.m. The festival will feature samples of more than 75 microbrews. Some participating breweries include Chicago's Lake Effect Brewing, Blue Nose Brewery, Wild Onion Brewery, Two Brothers, Finch's, Spiteful and Vice District. Tickets are $40.

Sidewalk Sale — The Lincoln Park Merchant Association is hosting a sidewalk sale Saturday and Sunday featuring goods from many of the boutiques that line the Armitage-Halsted corridor. The sale will be from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday

Pitchfork Aftershows — If you can't make it out to Union Park, catch some of the top acts from the weekend at Lincoln Hall. Monakr performs Friday, Ariel Pink and Mr. Twin Sister are performing Saturday night and How to Dress Well (DePaul University grad) performs Sunday night.
